Forex chart replay and bar replay, with trades and a full report

Updated 7 November 2026 · 5 min read

“Chart replay”, “bar replay”, “market replay” and “candle replay” all mean the same thing: going back to a past moment on the chart, hiding what came next, and watching the candles appear one by one. In PlayBack Forex this is called PlayBack, and it is the whole product, not a side feature.

PlayBack Forex: EURUSD on four synced timeframes (4h, 1h, 15m, 5m) with the future candles hidden
A PlayBack on EURUSD: four timeframes advance together, the future stays hidden.

Chart replay alone is not a backtest

On many charting platforms, replay only moves the candles. You still have to track your trades in a spreadsheet, and you never see a win rate or a drawdown. PlayBack Forex records every trade you place during the PlayBack and turns it into a report.

What you get when the PlayBack ends

A trading report as detailed as a professional strategy tester: net profit, profit factor, win rate, maximum drawdown, recovery factor, Sharpe ratio, losing streaks, results by hour and weekday, Monte Carlo and every session saved for comparison.

Why traders choose PlayBack Forex

Chart replay on your phone

Replaying a chart on a small screen is usually painful. PlayBack Forex was designed for it: one-thumb controls, one-tap trading and swipeable pairs and timeframes.
